European Zebrafish Resource Center (EZRC)

The EZRC at the KIT maintains and distributes mutant and transgenic zebrafish lines and also gives zebrafish researchers access to screening services and technologies such as imaging and high-throughput sequencing. The EZRC maintains and distributes currently over 18,000 genetically altered lines. In order to provide well-defined genetic backgrounds, we are inbreeding zebrafish and medaka. Since November 2013 the EZRC has shipped lines to customers in 32 countries. Animals with specifically altered genetic information have been key to progress in biomedical research. The stock collection of the EZRC is a unique research resource. In addition, it helps to avoid redundant animal experiments, make results more reproducible, and save research funds.
